Celebrating One Year as a Full-Time Trainer & 1000+ Training Hours 🥳One year ago in the last week of May 2023, I took a bold step and left my well-paying corporate job to pursue my passion for training and development. In this one year, I have also completed 1000+ training hours ranging from teaching CA, ACCA, US CMA, Microsoft Excel, Annual Report Analysis, Etc.The journey has been nothing short of incredible, filled with challenges, growth, and countless rewarding moments.Here are the top 5 learnings I've gathered from this transformative experience:➡️ Passion Drives Success: When you truly love what you do, it shows. Ever organised a training course for your team and it's not quite hit the mark?Yep, me too! We have all been there 👋 So where is it we go wrong? 💡 When it comes to discussing training with businesses we quite often hear that people just aren’t sure what training it is that they need. In all honesty, It's easy to get it wrong and quite often this is because when choosing training we focus on cost and timeframe and don’t consider things like business goals, individual learning styles, and core objectives of the course. My three top tips to identifying what skills gaps you have in your business and more importantly what training could help are: ⚫ Conduct Skills Assessments: Regularly assess the skills of your employees to identify any gaps between their current skills and the skills required for their roles or for the business goals. This can be done through self-assessments, manager assessments, skill tests, or even performance evaluations. ⚫Engage in Dialogue: Encourage open communication between employees and management regarding their skills development needs and aspirations. Encouraging regular one-on-one meetings or performance reviews can provide valuable insights into where employees feel they lack skills or where they see opportunities for growth. ⚫Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep up to date with industry trends and technological advancementsto anticipate future skill requirements. Attend conferences, workshops, and industry events to stay informed about emerging skills and competencies. Additionally, capture data analytics to identify skill trends within your organisation and compare them with industry benchmarks to pinpoint areas where your workforce may need additional training or development.
